Today August 5th is the 50th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroes Death......  I was 12 then and I remember where I was that day, ( hearing radio reports  riding in my parents car on a summertime vacation).,,

Both Elton Johns Candle in the Wind  and my own special avatar is my  obsessions with her fame..

I remember hearing it too. Can't say exactly where I was, but I guess it was at our summer home in the archipelago. I was 15 at the time and I had seen very few of her movies.

@Addicted: I'd suggest you start with Some Like It Hot. Not only does it have MM, but also Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis. My favorite Marilyn movie, although there are several others that are very good, like The Seven Year Itch or Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

The classic Marilyn image is from The Seven Year itch, of course.

Not her best film, but she made one film easily categorized as fantasy/science fiction... "Monkey Business" where professor Cary Grant develops a fountain of youth potion (changing behavior, but not appearance). It's a silly comedy with real stars. Fun and breezy.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

Reading this subject title, I had a completely different idea of what this topic was going to be about
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

He who MUST get the last word in on a pointless, endless argument doesn't win. It makes him the bigger jerk.
