| | Posted: | | | | I find it sad that more and more movies do NOT include their own trailer. I often buy DVDs without really knowing anything about the movie so having the opportunity to watch the the trailer on the newly purchased movie is a very nice feature. Even if I am familiar with the film, I will often watch the trailer before starting the movie. I hope that NOT including the trailer doesn't grow in popularity. Without the trailer, it would be similar to publishing an encyclopedia set with the "B" volume. Perhaps by the time the DVD is ready to be printed, a second rate buffoon from within the bowls of the studio makes the crucial decision with the aid of dice?

My wife and I usually want to see a trailer before we watch a movie and it's frustrating when we have to get up, go to the computer, find the trailer and watch it there. I have been collecting trailers since 2001 and it's up too 600+GB and counting. When I add a movie to DVDP, I attach my trailer to my links. | | Posted: | | | | I am not saying it can't be done.... I know very well it can be done... what I am saying is that youtube don't have trailers for ALL movies.... that there has been MANY movies and TV shows that they just didn't have the trailer for so that I can add it to profiler.
While it is a good source for trailers... it is far from perfect... in my experience there is too many not there... and the ones that are there you never know how long they will be there for. I have seen some that has been there for years... and others that disappear at any time without any notice.
For that reason I personally wouldn't even call youtube a great source for trailers... barely a good source in my personal opinion. | | | | Pete |

That's not really the point from my perspective. And consider (while unlikely) that many trailers are often not released on YouTube by the companies but by your average user, the companies have the right to (and sometimes do) tell YouTube to remove every one of them. | | Posted: | | | | When I buy a DVD or Blu-ray I want the film or TV show or whatever the basic content is. The best feature is subtitles (my home is a noisy one). All the rest will rarely be watched at all. Occasionally I will watch outtakes or deleted scenes. Fewer than 1% of all commentary tracks are worth the first listen... none are worth viewing a second time. Extras get lost... extra animated cartoons, shorts, newsreels... I forget they are there and without a reasonable way to catalog by feature, I never find them again.
The only way I've ever enjoyed rewatching film trailers is for porn, where I don't need to suffer through the miserable dialog to see the good bits.
I want the basic content, and little else. The rest is disc-filler. Play the stuff and give lots of scene selections so I can revisit a favorite scene quickly without fast forwarding.
I understand I am in the minority here and do not wish to spoil anyone else's fun. I just ignore the other stuff and don't compain if it gets left off.
I get upset at the inability to find certain films in anything resembling the correct widescreen aspect ratio. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.
