| Posted: | | | | You know back in the late 1990's I used to work for an optical storage library outfit. Back then it was only CD's, but we wanted to get the then newly developed FMD disc (flourescent multi-layer) that had a read/write storage capacity of 120GB. Just another case of technology being developed long ago and then swallowed up by big companies buying out the patents so they could slowly unleash new, lesser capacity systems dribbled to the market over time to keep profits flowing. |
