So this topic has made me curious about what other people have on VHS that they're hanging on to because they haven't been released on DVD.

I periodically check on Amazon about my 13 remaining tapes, and found that one of them (The Man in the Iron Mask from 1976) I can replace with a French all-region blu-ray, so that's hit my wishlist.

Here is my list, now minus the one I can replace:

- Casanova (1987)
- The Count of Monte Cristo (1974 - is available in a Region 2 dvd, but I don't have an all-region player)
- Crystal Triangle (1987, anime)
- Mermaid Forest (1991, anime)
- Mermaid's Scar (1993, anime)
- Snowden on Ice
- The Tale of Genji (1987, anime)
- Tales of the Serengeti (4 tape set, nature documentary)
- and a taped-off-TV VHS of several episodes of the TV show Island Son.
If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

Final Approach (1991)

I'd love to see that one released also.

As for a list of VHS tapes that I still have which have never been released anywhere on DVD, there's quite a few.

Off the top of my head:

Buford's Beach Bunnies
Confessions of a Serial Killer
Deathstalker III
The Dirt Bike Kid
Gimme an "F"
Hack-O-Lantern
Hot Chili
The Invisible Maniac
The Keep
Little Darlings
Malibu Bikini Shop
Meatballs III: Summer Job
Nightflyers
The Peanut Butter Solution
The Quest (a.k.a. Frog Dreaming)
Race For Your Life Charlie Brown
RAD
Rocktober Blood
Round Trip to Heaven
Scream For Help
Sorority Girls and the Creature from Hell
Spellcaster
Stewardess School
Stitches
Summer Camp Nightmare
Summer Job
Surf II
Twisted (1986)
Virgin High

Some of those I also have TV rips of.

...and there's more of course, if I could just remember them!

I don't even have the slightest idea what I have anymore... mostly just TV shows I recorded off cable. I really need to go through it all. See if I have any more gems in there I can get my friend to transfer over to DVD for me.

I have a thousand tapes or so that I've been slowly converting to DVDs. I doubt any of them will be released on DVDs and they are things I want for my niece and nephews. Most of them are documentaries or live coverage of historical events.

I never taped TV shows but lately I've been tempted after watching some really good shows on Antenna TV. I hate the commercials but if I want to watch more than the first season of Maude I have no choice.

There's an older Canadian DVD release (by Alliance Vivafilm) of that one. It's region free, and while it is 4x3... still looks pretty decent.

Only thing I still have on VHS are some early UFC's, which for some reason were never released on DVD (at least in North America).

Only have 3:

The Keep (it's my understanding that there is a longer version of this movie out there but it's never been committed to VHS/DVD/BD.  I'd love to see it)

The Lawnmower Man: Unrated Director's Cut (141 min.) vs. the 107 min. DVD version that's currently available.

Asteroid w/ Michael Biehn, Annabella Sciora, Anthony Zerbe (originally aired as a SciFi Channel 2-part movie, total length of the actual movie was about 3 hrs., the DVD version is 122 minutes).  I have it recorded on VHS from the SciFi Channel airing of it but it's not a very good transfer.

I've managed to replace everything else.
