| Posted: | | | | it looks like the new November movies coming out from Criterion Collection are going to be Bluray and DVD Combo packs, not sure if i like this or not, I was wondering does that mean they might rerelease the previously movies that they have out on Bluray as a combo in the future???

I'd guess back in the days the DVD-sales were strong enough to justify DVD-only resease. Nowadays I would think/hope that DVD-sales for movies are in the cellar, so giving them away as a kind of promo to the BD is the only way to get them to people. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

I'm sure they'll eventually start repackaging older titles with the two together, but they'll be Dual Format from this point forward (though they haven't indicated if Eclipse will still be DVD only). |

| Posted: | | | | I'm a Blu-ray buyer of theirs, so it won't be a problem for me so long as they're packaged in BD-sized cases. I'm sure DVD-only buyers will feel the opposite.
I imagine the reason for this is due to the packaging costs of DVD-only releases. They have to manufacture the two releases in two different sized cases, manufacture two different booklets, etc. | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page |
