Just purchased The Wolverine, and it has two discs, Theatrical and Unleashed Extended Cut. I haven't seen this in the cinemas, so which version shoud I watch for the first time?

Since both are basically the same movie, I'd go with the extended cut (and completely omit the theatrical).
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Blu-ray 3D theatrical first. Then extended cut 2D.

I haven't watched the extended cut yet (I've been waiting for my wife to free up some time  ), but I did catch the movie in the theater. With 12+ minutes of reportedly good material added into the extended cut, I'd also recommend watching the extended cut and forgetting the theatrical version. However, if you want to compare the 2 versions for yourself, only then would I say to watch the theatrical version first followed by the extended cut.

since you bought both discs .. and haven't seen either .. go with theatrical  first...  then treat your self a few days ( or hours) later and watch the extended .. see if you can find the new scenes and judge for yourself if they were worthy ..
