Just imagine how stressful it is for people like me who insist on including the occasional VHS in amongst their DVDs and BDs, so they're all alphabetical.  Some don't even fit in the shelves where they're meant to be, because the gaps are too short!  The doctor's told me the medicine will help, but I'm not so sure...
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

There's a medicine for this?

You mean I can stop looking for a shelve that has exactly the required width?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

V-H-SSSSS?  What are those?  I used to have magic boxes that had movies on reel to reel tape, but I have replaced them all with shiny discs.

It is...  In North America.

I do import some titles from Amazon.co.uk and don't really care for the HD Keepcases, but doesn't bother me too much.  I used to buy some Previous Rentals from a local video store, before they closed, and they would always swap the cases for Keepcases as they had a lock in place which always annoyed me, so I bought replacement cases, but the artwork was sized for them so it wasn't a big deal.

I have a couple combo packs that I bought at Sam's Club and Costco that are DVD/Blu-ray combos, and came in a standard DVD case.  As for VHS tapes I know what they are, I just didn't think anyone had them circulating in their collections anymore.  I have about ten tapes in my house, two movies and family home movies which I have just been too lazy to move to DVD.

I still have 43 'official' VHS tapes, most of which feature bands that no one's likely to bother rereleasing anything about anytime soon.  I like a lot of non-mainstream music...  I've only 4 left that aren't music ones.

And speaking of annoying, shelf-busting cases, DVD's in clamshells suck.

I don't have a case complaint so to speak.  But I hate that I bought seasons of certain shows as they were released and have a case for each season and then many of them were released in a single case that takes up a third of the space.  I don't want to rebuy the seasons but would love to save the space.

And in Germany. I also hate it, that it isn't the case with the UK releases as I used to buy a lot there. Now I try to wait for a decent price of German releases, just to have the thinner case and save some space.

trick is to use another shelf to store those cases /boxsets  that are designed differently ..  I currently am using .......5 shelves to store my blue ray / dvd discs ..    vhs  is in a box somewhere in the closet  standing straight up  not laying down ..  dvds can be stored as you know either flat or standing .. makes the shelving a  bit better and better organized.
