| Posted: | | | | Has anyone had any bad experiences with Redbox? I am asking because there is one outside the building where I work. Today while on my morning walk I got curious and looked at it. And they had a movie I really been wanting to see... so I just today rented my first film ever from Redbox. I got... Carrie|Year: 2013|100 Min.| IMDb| Trailer/IntroChloe Grace Moretz and Oscar® nominee Julianne Moore* star in this exhilarating reimagining of Stephen King's iconic best seller. After merciless taunting from classmates and abuse at the hand of her religious fanatic mother (Moore), Carrie's (Mortez) anger - and her telekinetic powers - are unleashed. And when a prom prank goes horribly wrong, events spiral out of control until the terrifying conclusion of this powerful, pulse-quickening horror story. *Actress:2002, Far From Heaven; 1999, The End of the Affair. So what do you all think of Redbox over-all? | | | Pete | | | Last edited: by Addicted2DVD |

| Posted: | | | | Like you, until about a 2 weeks ago, had never rented from them. My experience was quick and easy. I reserved the movie I wanted online and was able to pick it up easily. I also got a free rental right away and often see people list rental codes on other forums.
My main reason I won't be using it much is the nearest one is about 10 miles away and unless there's a reason to go into town twice in two days, it's a bit of a waste of time/gas for me to do it unless there is just something I REALLY wanted to see. (They had a nominated short exclusively that I wanted to watch so that's why I took the chance).
The main negative that I've heard about them isn't really Redbox's fault. People try to scam them by stealing the discs so sometimes you'll rent something but there'll be a blank disc (which since it has the right markings on, you don't find out till you get home). But it seems like it's easy to get a refund through the company.
I'd use them again, no problems. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I've been using Redbox for quite a while and have never had trouble with them. I probably have 6-7 machines within 10 miles of my house (I have 2 grocery stores with 2 Redboxes each sitting side-by-side), so I've never had a problem with finding a title I want to watch. It's a great way to find out if a title is something I might consider buying without blind-buying it. It's also a great way to still be able to watch a movie while preventing double-dipping on the delayed extended cut (ie The Hobbit) | | | My phpDVDprofiler collection |

I love that they often send me coupons for free rents or practically free, but notice those weekends the pickings are even slimmer as everyone gets em too. Last weekend I had a $1 off coupon but couldn't find anything at 4 different spots. I also hate that they get rental versions of many things, but all in all, they are more good than bad. I would tell anyone who will listen not to even bother with I Spit on Your Grave 2 through them. It's a cut to ribbons r-rated version that is uber-close to unwatchable. I suffered so you don't have to! |
