Question: Is it possible to reassign collection numbers via the iOS app?

Back story:

For years I was a desktop user and did most of my collection via the desktop app that I paid for.  At this point, it's been several years but I made the move to a mac and I know (without dual booting) I won't likely ever see a mac desktop version and I'm ok with this.

I've been using the iOS version for years as well and recently I noticed that anything I've ever scanned in via my iPhone gets sorted separately when looking at my collection alphabetically here on the website.  I'm a bit OCD and on the desktop I always reassigned collection numbers alphabetically every time I added to my collection.  This made the website list easy to view for my wife.  Right now it's a hot mess...

Sorted alphabetically the list shows: Fringe Season 1, House, Friends with Benefits, Fringe Season 2, Skyfall, Easy A, etc....It's a jumbled mess of the newer things I've scanned in via iOS until it gets back to the bulk of my collection that was done via a desktop years ago.

There is no rhyme or reason to it.  This could be avoided if I could just reassign collection numbers...but I'm not seeing a way to do this via the iOS app.  And of course if I just sort the website by collection number that's not helpful for my wife to see if we have a BR/DVD or not....Heck, right now the alphabetical listing doesn't help her either.

Please help.
Thanks in advance

You can only reassign collection numbers manually for each profile in the app.

any way to fix this issue?

or in order to fix it would I have to delete everything and scan it all in via the iOS app?

If it's just a one time renumbering, perhaps you could borrow a laptop with Windows on it and do the renumbering there? A bit cumbersome, but certainly better than rescanning your collection, if it is large.

It wouldn't be a one time thing.

It really bothers me that even the "sort alphabetically" website listing isn't correct.

I think I'm destined to rescan everything with the app.

Shouldn't be too bad with batch scanning and the fact that I have everything in order on my shelves.

I don't upload via the iOS app, but the online is supposed to sort using the 'sort title' when you click on title.  The collection number shouldn't have an effect on that.

If you click on my collection and sort by title, you'll see what in saying...basically everything above "(500) days of summer" is a mess because it was scanned in via iOS app.

If I could renumber my collection by alphabetical, then I would at least have ONE way to accurately display my list in order so that my wife could check our collection via the website when out shopping.

Furthermore, with only a Mac at home (no PC), all I have is the iOS version and I can't find/view a "sort title" field on any disc in my collection (let alone find a way to edit it)

It may be more effort/$$$/time than you're willing to invest, but it's not at all difficult to run DVD Profiler on a Mac.  There are paid options that let you do that as well as free options.  As a previous user of the Windows version, that's one less expense to worry about.

Anyway, this isn't the time or place, but if you're interested, there are people here who can assist with that.  I use Parallels myself, but there are other options.  Should you wish to pursue that route.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.

this is what I don't understand - your sorted by titles list doesn't sort by titles.

The collection number is irrelevent, all I can guess is that the titles you have added by the Ios have no sort title at all. And if this is correct then scanning all the rest by your phone would mean none of your titles would be correct. (so you would be even worse off).

if you look at my list for instance then every single title is sorted correctly - even those I added using my phone (since they all have a sort title).

That's a good point, but I find it hard to believe that some how I've scanned in ones without sort titles, while others have scanned in the same titles without issues? I'm going to cross check my iOS scans versus your collection

Update, I looked quick, and I thought I saw a match (up in the air), but mine is BR and yours is DVD
Plus, there would be the issue of US vs UK
