Profiler for iPad has changed my life!Yes, I know that’s a bold statement (pun intended), but it’s true. Well, at least it has changed how I watch my DVDs, and that
is an important part of my life.
Part of the reason is something that I mentioned in my previous post,
Me and My Collection. For many, many years I have bought DVDs faster than I have had time to watch them. And it used to be that when I wanted to watch something, I would usually chose one of my most recent purchases, meaning that some DVDs would be more or less forgotten. By now I have about 800 unwatched movies (and a lot of unwatched, or partially watched, TV shows).
What I have started to do now (or rather some time ago) is that I select Showcase. Then I apply a filter for just unwatched movies. I set sorting to
Random Order and I pick the first title that strikes my fancy.
I always keep my iPad next to my
Stressless® TV chair. It gives me such an easy overview of my collection. I just love the Showcase view. I guess Profiler on iPhone or Android would be useful, too, but as far as I know they don’t have the Showcase view.
I would have bought my iPad just for Profiler alone. As it is, I use it for a lot more, but Profiler is by far the most important app I have.
I guess having DVD Profiler on a laptop might give you some of the advantages that iPad has, but the iPad is so much more convenient. And I don’t own a laptop anyway. I never liked laptops, but that’s another story.
