I just realized no one makes pan & scan DVDs anymore. Does anyone know when this stopped? The last new one I've been able to find was The Simpsons movie in December 2007. There are plenty of that, but they are repackages of old discs.

Some of the MOD discs are pan & scan. The equivalent movies released are in widescreen in Europe or Australia.

The latest p&s DVD that I have is from 2012. But I wouldn't be surprised if some companies are still making cheap boxsets of B-movies containing p&s releases.

Excluding such boxsets, the latest I have is House of Long Shadows, released 18 Jan 2011. But that's a MOD disc. Also excluding MODs, the latest in my collection is Trouble in the Sky (aka Cone of Silence), released 27 Jul 2010.

the last and were still in production would be Sony Columbia titles of  Annie ( 1982) 25th anniversary ed.  in 5.1 sound  and egad ! -  1:33  ..  over the 2:35 theatrical ..,,  and also  Last Action Hero (1993)  were probably others as well.. but it was Sony Columbia were notorious for this marketing habit.

It got to a point (at one time)  that the few widescreen prints OOP  were worth a few more dollars on ebay..
