| Posted: | | | | I've noticed some contributions over the past few months where there's a separate child profile being made for making-of documentaries that pertains to the movie itself and is on the disc along with the movie. I always thought this kind of thing was covered in the features section as a featurette... |

| Posted: | | | | So, it's now also allowed as a separate profile? Personally, since I don't download child profiles unless it's an actual bonus film in a box set it doesn't make a huge difference, but I always thought it was odd that these were submitted (and subsequently approved). |

My reply was meant to indicate that, yes, it is covered in the features section as a featurette. My reply was meant to indicate that, yes, it is covered in the features section as a featurette. They do not receive their own profile. Ok, thanks. However, there have been ones submitted already and approved. |

| Posted: | | | | Not sure why I made this thread, found the specific item in the rules: The term "Bonus Feature Film" is used to define any feature film that is included as part of the bonus material for a single release. These are not the same as Double Features or Anthology Collections which are a collection of films grouped together which require the "Box Set" contribution rules. Do not confuse "Bonus Feature Films" with "Any video documentary material regarding the film, or those associated with it." Those are Featurettes.http://www.invelos.com/dvdpro/contributions/Rules.aspx?display=discextrasThanks guys for the input. |

| Posted: | | | | How do we determine if it is a bonus feature film or just a featurette with a quite long running time?
For example: "The Making of Close Encounters of the Third Kind" included in the UHD/BD-combo 043396-514980. I think this documentary does not count as feature film, so the separate profile should be removed.
Making of documentaries which have been released as feature films might be: - "Full Tilt Boogie" (From Dusk Till Dawn) - "Overnight" (The Boondock Saints) |

| Posted: | | | | What about this justification for "making of .." documentary being a bonus feature film: Not a featurette because the disc was released years after the documentary was produced and was therefore not produced to accompany the disc.
Where in the rules does it state a documentary regarding the film is no longer considered a featurette based on when the documentary was produced and when the DVD/Blu-ray/4K disc was initially and subsequently released?
I was dumbfounded when the screener approved it. Did the screener make a serious error in judgement? |

Under those guidelines you bolded, there would be a ton of "documentaries" with catalog titles released by Shout, Arrow, etc. Mistakes do happen with these screeners (assuming it went to a second level with a no vote). I would correct it and be specific in your notes. |
