I have more than 1000 DVDs and BluRays. But nowadays, with streaming becoming more and more popular, I buy occasionally a movie from a streaming service (e.g. Amazon) when they are on sale.

As I am getting older and the collection just keeps growing, it gets harder to remember which films I already own or which ones I have seen at the theatre  . What are your techniques to keep track of those only movies in addition to the DVD/BR collection?
Do you add them to DVD Profiler - if so, how? Do you ignore them? Track them somewhere else?

I only own a handful of streaming purchases at this point, so don't feel much need to catalog them at this point.

You could always create a "custom category" and add them manually within the Profiler program.

I don't purchase online rights (too old for such virtual goods), but I manage various other materials, I download or converted from other media. I download the nearest online profile from Invelos and replace the media type with various custom types, which indicate the source of the media: TV, VHS, ... - This also prevents me from contributing such fake profiles...

Best advice is to download the same title from Invelos  you saw on streaming.. ( doesn't matter at this point the exact upc code .. ) and then add 'said title'  to your wish list  and in the studio menu -category I add the option of  i.e. amazon or net flicks, showtime , HBO etc  etc.,  and then add the exact date i saw the title..
and of course depending on the title  if its really good ( and the day may come)  you would add that title to your library rate it accordingly ..

There are many times if a title is repeated months later on another channel and you can't remember if you saw it .. this is the best way to bring that up ..

... I also use this method of watched  if I'm sitting in my office and say.. Lawrence of Arabia is playing in HD on your favorite movie channel.. and you watch 60% of it ..  I'll mark it as being watched on that day.. just because I didn't take out the blue ray/dvd  of the same title and play it in my player doesn't  mean It can't me marked as "watched"  ...
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
