On Intel MacBooks VirtualBox is/was a free and simple solution.

Since that does not (and, as I understand it, will never) run on M1 MacBooks, I have since found UTM, a program that will run Windows ARM VMs on M1.

I haven't tried it myself yet, but just thought I mention it here.

Apparently updated by Apple.

Yes

"This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch icon."

I have seen them do similar things in the past.

Note the DVD Profiler Facebook group is a fan group, I don't see either Ken or Gerri as members. The sole group admin hasn't posted in it since 2011 though he seems active on Facebook itself.

I know the admin, so I messaged him to suggest to add some more admins (So that if any admins were to leave Facebook, there's still more.)

Well, I went ahead and created a Discord server. Happy for anyone to join it, be it for DVDP discussions or planning ahead for its eventual demise

I joined the Discord. Same username as here.

Wow, that is sad news. Seems I was lucky, setting up my new phone just a few weeks earlier, it was still available.

EDIT:
If you purchased it before, you can go into your account on the App Store, select Purchases, then My Purchases and then search for it there. It is, as of right now, still available there as a legacy item.

Relieved, too!

This is still essential software to me.

You click on the share icon (that square with the arrow at the bottom right of the screen) and menu that pops up should include the item "Remove from Collection" (it's the second item, right under "Move/Personalize").
